Coming down from the trees

So the new place:

I never thought I’d be moving back to Granger after living there with Emmett my first trip back from England, but I also never thought I’d have a roomate again.

The place is called Main Street Village Apartments. We have a mid sized apartment there, and it looks like this on the floor plan:

Two bathrooms, JJ is estactic about that part.
It will odd to live on the ground floor again, so the end of the treehouse days is near. We should be out of the current place by the 15th of next month. There is a pond in the midde of the property and lots of facilities there like a gym and pool and even a 50 seat theatre. And it is a straight shot up Douglas from work, though it crosses some of the busiest streets in the area. There is also a security system and a garage to park in (if we wanna pay for it.) Another plus? Its right across the street from the new St. Joe Hospital. I’m hoping that never becomes an issue, but if it is, its good to know its there.

This means that I will be wrapping up the Treehouse in the Lunar Sea blog, and starting something new. Though wwww.rubyourselfwithorangetomusic.com is still available, that something new will most likely be over on wordpress.com, since its much easier to back up and recover posts there. In fact I have a start there already as a result of working with www.REHUPA.com and I’ll be posting the links here as I do more PotD’s. Some of it is PotD’s from here, but its slow going, LJ doesn’t make it easy to export your postings and take them somewhere else. Mostly its been cut and paste so far.

POTD: Feb 21st, 2009

Looks like the upgrade to wordpress 2.7 for www.rehupa.com went well. I will probably grab a website and move this blog there when it gets unwieldy. Best put the backup widget on here too now that I think about it.

Moved a couple of boxes to the new place. Much Much more to go. Living in Granger again, who’d thunk it?

Planning on using the tax return to fund shippers. Fix my tooth, and buy some clothes I think. If it’ll go tht far.

While we were out and about, we went to Martins to get bottled water. They had a local radio station there hosting an ice scupture contest.  Nick took this picture:

Cool.

PotD: Feb 14th, 2009: On the drive back from Dayton

I think we were in Geneva Indiana, and after having been disappointed by the ‘swiss hotel’ McDonalds in Berne, we took a slightly different route and along the way, saw this:

The word Limberlost and Loblolly Marsh appeared on several signs. I pulled in and let JJ take a couple pictures, but as it was after 5pm, we chose not to go in. And we were anxious to get home after all the driving. I checked Google from my iphone and found that Gene Stratton-Porter was a writer and naturalist. And she wrote a book called “Girl of the Limberlost” which has been made into a movie at least 3 times. We will seek it out on netflix or someplace. Apparently it involved selling moths. I had no idea there was money in moths. Even swamp moths.

Well worth the late arrival back at the treehouse, and we went to bed almost immediately.
