Them That Live Below

A new page for a new book!

Deep inside you realize that nobody really knows what’s going on in the world.

After a troubled childhood RJ Wellman left the small town of Wayne, West Virginia and never looked back. That is till his mother’s sudden death called him home. There he uncovers a dark family tradition which forces him to choose between his old life and the seemingly magical world at his very feet.

That being said: This isn’t a book about how things really happened; it’s not even

an autobiography; its family legend.

Did  I break my arm and spend 3 days in a hospital? Yes. Did my brother stab me with my own pocketknife? Yes. Do I have re-occurring dreams of the same house near a UFO base? Yes.

But if my granmaw Wellman whacked a bear on the nose with an iron skillet and killed it instantly then who’s to say her dog didn’t live for 45 years or that one night she didn’t have a visit from a dead relative? Or that folks swear we’re all descended from French-Canadian river pirates? Oh you’ve heard that part have you? Then you must realize the rest is true…except the parts that aren’t of course.

I’m wondering if I should add more content here, get a wiki going, or talk about the act of writing. I guess I should wait for some people to actually read it.

If there was going to be a sequel, which of the following would you rather see:

    1) A prequel about Brother Wellman and his first encounters with the Indians and Them that Live Below.

    2) The continuing story of the three brothers as they journey toward the wellspring of Music.

    3) A variation on the first one where it moves thru history from Brother Wellman up to RJ’s Mom with the demon Sparky as the main character.

    4) A more true to life autobiography of my life up to about my days as freshman in college?
